At 6ft 1, with the longest wingspan in comedy (*probably), Kate’s a naturally engaging, energetic performer with effortlessly tight gags to match. Her unique background in mental health has given her a fresh take on the world, a completely distinctive voice, and fuels her high energy storytelling, whip-smart punchlines and razor-sharp observations of life's quirks through queer eyes.
‘Bulletproof’ (Steve Bennett, Chortle)
'She's definitely got funny bones' (Bruce Dessau, Beyond the Joke)
Kate Martin is ‘brilliantly funny & energetic’ (Angela Barnes) and her ‘confident delivery and slick material’ (Chortle) have quickly established her as one of the most exciting acts on the circuit. Kate was a finalist of the Funny Women Stage Awards 2022, runner-up in the finals of the WDCF New Comedian of the Year competition 2021, and in 2021 won the Comedy Store’s King Gong, Up the Creeks Blackout, and the Frog and Bucket’s Beat the Frog.
'Kate Martin is brilliantly funny, energetic and a little bit filthy, which I'm sure you'll agree is a pretty great combo' Angela Barnes
'Undeniably gifted. Explosive new talent, definitely an act that you will be bragging about seeing early in her career' (NDC)

More Blah
Being a young carer in her teens, Kate quickly learnt the importance of a damn good sense of humour to laugh at life’s absurdities. She has spent her career working with young people in mental health, social care, and criminal justice, using humour to help them to speak up about and own their experiences. She’s developed award-winning training programmes on some of the most difficult to explore topics in mental health, training 1000s of people nationally and internationally. Her work has brought her acclaim for her skill in bringing humour to sensitive topics and difficult situations. Kate put her PhD in mental health (yes, she is named after the lesbian footwear of choice, Dr Martin…*chefs kiss) to immediate use by going straight into comedy.
